Zapped of impetus
Adrift within my dreams

(Beer-fed-massaged-to-perfection-Kobe beef)
Wrapped in thick double cut bacon
Covered in a luscious bleu cheese sauce
So tender and succulent

I threw away the knife

Accompanied by crisp steamed veggies
Broccoli/asparagus/oyster mushrooms
Doused in a Hollandaise
Sitting right next to…

Toothsome Tiger Prawns
The big ones/16 to a pound
Drenched in butter, garlic and lemon juice
Each one holding a little sign that screams
Eat me first!

And bread…

Thick. soft, hard crusted sourdough
Made at Boudin Bakery on the Wharf
In San Fransisco

Loaves upon loaves
Dancing to my table
Singing, “hallelujah praise be dinner”
And more butter

Lots of butter

Dunking in the creamy chowder
Clogging the pours
Jamming up le bloodstream
Sending my cholesterol over 500

Oh God! (now I’m in a restaurant)
Waiter, what are those people eating?
Double chocolate mousse and kiwi?
Bring it!

Along with Toblerone cheesecake
Belgium Raspberry brownies and
Spring-rolled fried bananas

Don’t look at me that way
Your tip will be as fat as my gorged belly
Hanging over my loosened belt
Bouncing in time to my every breath
My every fantasy
Waking me up

Alone on the couch…

Dissipated and defeated
Sipping on my water

After this is over

I’m never fasting again
